About Us...

In Sound Company community choir was formed in 2012. The choir’s first performance was part of the celebrations to welcome the Olympic torch to Birmingham.

From an initial group of 19 singers, it has grown in number to approximately 70 members. The choir gives regular concerts, performing a wide variety of music, often sharing the stage with guest performers or working with local arts organisation Gig Caritas. In Sound Company has also taken part in festivals, residential singing weekends and workshops.

Leadership Team

Core Group

The core group meets termly and discusses plans for the future, music ideas, finances, events, socials and publicity. We are always happy to welcome new volunteers. Most of us have been doing various jobs for the choir since 2012! Please say hello to any of us. Or you can volunteer to help with events or publicity, on a one-off basis too. Key roles:

Alice Lumley - Membership secretary. Alice will welcome you to the choir, take you contact details and add you to our email list and register.

Pam Vandome - Music librarian. Pam stores our large library of music at home, and sorts out numbering and giving out your numbered copies, as well as trying to get them back after performances (and chasing missing copies!). This is a very time consuming job. Please be patient and considerate in picking up and returning music.

Adrian Allen - Treasurer - Adrian keeps track of our income and agrees expenditure.
